Securing financing and establishing a budget are essential steps before starting construction. Arrange for the necessary loans, clearly understand your financial obligations, and ensure your budget aligns with your home design plans. Work closely with both your financial advisor and builder to ensure everything stays on track.

Choosing the ideal home design and layout is crucial. Work with architects and designers to develop a plan tailored to your needs. Evaluate design options, prioritize both functionality and aesthetics, and settle on a layout that complements your lifestyle.

02 - HOME DESIGN & LAYOUT

The first phase of your construction project involves site preparation and laying the foundation for your home. This includes earthworks like ground leveling and installing retaining walls. Additionally, underground systems for stormwater, electrical, plumbing, and gas are installed before pouring the concrete slab. Engineers and supervisors will carry out inspections during this stage to ensure the slab complies with building standards.

03 - SITE WORKS & SLAB DOWN

The frame stage is when the structural framework of your home is built. Builders will construct both internal and external walls and install roof trusses. For two-storey homes, this process is repeated to include the floor separating the ground and upper levels.

04 - FRAME STAGE

During the lock-up stage, windows, roofing, and guttering are installed, securing the home. This phase also includes completing cladding, brickwork, electrical wiring, and plumbing fixtures. It marks a significant visual transformation as the structure of your home starts to take shape.

05 - LOCK UP

After the lock-up stage, attention turns to the interior finishing. Builders install internal doors, skirting boards, plastering, and other key components. Kitchen and bathroom fittings are also added during this phase, offering a clearer vision of the final appearance of your home.

06 - FIXTURES & FITTINGS

Once construction is completed, a practical completion inspection (PCI) provides an opportunity for you to assess the finished home alongside your builder. Any defects or issues identified during the inspection will be addressed before the handover. Once you're satisfied with the work, both you and your builder will sign off on the PCI document.

The final stage of construction involves adding the finishing touches to your home, such as flooring, paintwork, and appliance installations. Builders also complete plumbing fit-offs, install door hardware, and finalize any remaining tasks to ensure everything complies with building regulations.
